Apple's Dan Riccio transitions to special project, John Ternus now SVP of Hardware Engineering

Apple on Monday announced longtime hardware engineering chief, Dan Riccio, will transition to the role of vice president of engineering as he takes on a “new project” for the tech giant.Riccio will step down from his current position of SVP of Hardware Engineering, but is to remain a direct report to CEO Tim Cook. John Ternus will now lead Apple’s Hardware Engineering organization as a member of the executive team.”Every innovation Dan has helped Apple bring to life has made us a better and more innovative company, and we’re thrilled that he’ll continue to be part of the team,” Cook said. “John’s deep expertise and wide breadth of experience make him a bold and visionary leader of our Hardware Engineering teams.
